Robert Howarth

Robert Howarth began studying piano aged six. At the same time he became a chorister at St Peter Mancroft in Norwich. These together cemented his love for music and performing. He went to the University of York to study jointly as a pianist and harpsichordist and has since become principal keyboard player with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. He has conducted most of the Early Music groups in the UK and in many of the great European Opera Houses.

He has performed Mozart piano concertos in The Barbican Centre, Bridgwater Hall and Lucerne Concert Halls. For Joanna MacGregor he has given masterclasses at the Royal Academy of Music.

Robert has performed professionally for 26 years and has all over the world. He has a love and passion for performing and is delighted to be joining the Yamaha Music School at Matrix.
