(Post) Romanticism in music
The violin and piano duet plays some of the celebrated classics from the violin repertoire such as Brahms’ Sonatain G Major no.1, Elgar’s Chansonsop. 15 and as well as Frank Bridge’s Three pieces. Interestingly, the programme also includes music by three female composers: Clara Schumann, Rebecca Clarke and Lili Boulanger.

This well-recognised duet explores folk songs from different European countries, amazingly arranged as classical music compositions by four artists: Poulenc, Britten, Pizzetti and de Falla. The duet has recently launched their first CD, comprising pieces by Pizzetti.

Music across continents
This concert will include a selection of original songs as well as original interpretations of folk songs from the British Isles - all with an African twist. Our musicians will take us through shifting atmospheres, ballads and toe-tappers. A rich programme of music by two very accomplished musicians with music spanning across two continents.
